Job summary

Kreative Technologies is looking for a Senior Java Developer to design and build complex Java applications and services. You will lead technical work on features, set coding standards and mentor other developers.

The ideal candidate is an expert Java developer who writes clean, maintainable code. You should be comfortable owning technical design and guiding the team through difficult problems, while delivering reliable software in a remote-capable environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Java development experience.
• Strong Spring Boot, microservices and REST APIs expertise.
• Experience with SQL databases such as Oracle or Db2.
• Experience with Git, Maven or Gradle, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Familiarity with common office equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities

• Designs and develops complex Java applications, microservices and REST APIs.
• Creates technical designs and breaks work into tasks and estimates.
• Leads code reviews and enforces coding and security standards.
• Improves application performance, reliability and maintainability.
• Troubleshoots and resolves complex production issues.
• Mentors Java developers and supports their growth.
• Works with DevOps staff to improve build and deployment pipelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• 7+ years of Java development experience.

• Experience with SQL and relational databases such as Oracle or Db2.
• Experience with Git, Maven or Gradle, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Continually required to use common office equipment including but not limited to computers, phones, scanners and printers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with containers and cloud platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS or Azure.
• Oracle Certified Professional Java certification.
• Experience supporting federal government contracts.

Compensation

$91,569 – $101,743 per year
