Job summary

Wipro is seeking a senior software engineer to design, build, and support enterprise web applications using Java and Spring Boot. You will deliver RESTful services, participate in CI/CD pipelines, and mentor junior developers in an Agile, hybrid work environment.

The role requires 5–8 years of experience in full-stack Java development, familiarity with PCF or cloud platforms, and strong knowledge of REST, databases, and SDLC practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Professional software development experience in enterprise web application development, with full-stack Java expertise and mentoring experience.
• Experience building REST services in high-volume environments.
• Experience with SQL, Oracle, and MongoDB.
• Experience with PCF or equivalent cloud platforms.
• Strong RESTful design with Spring Boot.
• CI/CD, unit testing, API test automation, and automated deployment pipelines.
• Atlassian tools: Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo.
• knowledge of design patterns and SOLID principles.
• Experience across SDLC from requirements to testing.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work independently with leadership.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
• Hybrid work model; not eligible for fully remote work.

Responsibilities

• Thorough understanding of Agile software development methodologies, values, and processes.
• Strong passion for design, development, testing, deployment, and support of enterprise technology applications.
• Experience creating project artifacts including API documentation, technical use cases, and design documentation.
• Ability to partner effectively with Agile teams to deliver solutions and meet individual, team, and department objectives.
• Adaptability in fast-paced, rapidly changing environments.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Professional software development experience in enterprise web application development, with full-stack Java expertise and demonstrated experience mentoring junior developers.
• Experience building REST services supporting high-volume, highly available environments.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including SQL, Oracle, and MongoDB.
• Experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) or equivalent cloud platforms.
• Strong proficiency in RESTful service design and implementation using Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts, unit testing principles, API test automation, and automated deployment pipelines.
• Experience with the Atlassian tool suite strongly preferred: Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software design patterns and SOLID principles.
• Ability to support all phases of the SDLC, from requirements review through design, implementation, and full-spectrum testing (unit, functional, integration, end-to-end).
• Strong ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and learn new technologies independently.
• Proficient managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, geographically dispersed environment.
• Proven ability to work independently while serving in a leadership capacity within a team.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to improve coding productivity, accelerate delivery, and maintain code quality; contractors are expected to actively leverage AI tooling as part of standard engineering practice from day one.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid model. This role is not eligible for fully remote work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Spring Batch processing.
• Experience working in a highly regulated or financial services environment.
• Familiarity with Agile methodology and demonstrated experience in Agile working environments.
• Ability to research, document, and maintain architecture, design, and environment documentation across production and non-production systems.
• Willingness to learn and contribute across the full technology stack, including documentation of new capabilities.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging AI and automation tooling, with a desire to explore how these capabilities can improve team efficiency and software quality.

The expected compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $135,000 .

Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience.
