Job summary

Alpine Solutions Group in Chicago seeks a senior backend Java developer to own and advance the backend stack. You will drive high-throughput, low-latency services and mentor teammates while shaping architecture. Strong Spring Boot and cloud experience are essential.

Experience with Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, and WebSocket-based APIs will be highly valued as you build scalable fintech-style platform components.

Qualifications

• 4+ years as backend developer with expert level Java
• Strong communication skills
• Experience building high-throughput, low-latency systems (10k+ msgs/sec)
• Advanced Java knowledge: concurrency, memory, JVM performance
• Senior/lead or principal developer with mentoring responsibility
• Willingness to grow into a director role
• Solid unit testing with JUnit
• From small team within large company or startup
• Cloud experience (AWS, Azure or GCP)
• Experience with at least one SQL relational database
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science

Responsibilities

• Lead backend development and own the backend stack
