Job summary

White Sky Technologies LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based services for U.S. Government clients.

You will architect backend solutions, implement RESTful APIs, and collaborate across engineering disciplines in a fast-paced environment. The role requires 7+ years of Java backend experience, strong Spring Boot proficiency, and a solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience developing backend systems in Java.
• Strong proficiency with Java and core JVM concepts.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
• Experience with ORM frameworks such as Hibernate.
• Relational databases and NoSQL knowledge.
• Designing scalable, maintainable software systems.
• Version control with Git.
• Linux/Unix environments (e.g. RHEL).
• Agile development practices and code reviews.
• Strong collaboration across engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Design and code new software or modify existing software to add features.
• Debug and fix defects in existing software.
• Integrate software into new or modified systems.
• Develop simple data queries for databases.
• Improve documentation and development standards.
• Develop or implement algorithms meeting performance standards.
• Contribute to tests and documentation for software components.
• Lead software development teams per project needs.
• Coordinate software installation and monitor operation.
• Design complex database interfaces/queries.
• Oversee one or more teams to ensure timely delivery.
