Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation in the United States is seeking a Senior Full Stack Java & Azure Engineer to design, develop, and deliver secure, scalable cloud-native applications. You will collaborate with product, architecture, security, QE, DevOps, and operations teams to establish strong engineering practices.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of software engineering with full-stack Java experience, Spring Boot, and Azure, plus DevSecOps familiarity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience across modern web apps, APIs, data stores, and distributed systems.
• Strong hands-on Java, Spring Boot, API development, and cloud-native app design.
• Experience with secure, maintainable, testable software using OO principles and design patterns.
• Experience building cloud-native, containerized, and event-driven solutions; asynchronous integrations.
• DevSecOps experience across CI/CD, automated testing, code quality, and security scanning.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, infrastructure as code, secret management, and environment promotion.
• Strong troubleshooting and observability skills across apps, integrations, data, and cloud platforms.
• Ability to mentor engineers and collaborate across product, architecture, security, QE, DevOps, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support secure, scalable software aligned with architecture and standards.
• Develop Java/Spring Boot APIs, web and PWA capabilities, Azure integrations, data-access components, and containerized workloads.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and quality controls, security checks, and repeatable deployment processes.
• Apply security-by-design practices across authentication, authorization, secrets management, sensitive data, dependencies, logging, and least-privilege access.
• Mentor engineers, provide actionable code-review feedback, and establish reusable engineering patterns and development standards.
• Proactively identify technical risks and delivery roadblocks and collaborate with stakeholders to drive resolution.
