Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Full Stack Java & Azure Engineer for a remote role in the United States. You will design, develop, and maintain secure cloud-native applications, collaborating across product, architecture, security, QE, DevOps, and operations teams to uphold engineering standards.

You will build Java/Spring Boot APIs, modern web/PWA features, Azure integrations, and containerized workloads while strengthening CI/CD, testing, and security controls across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience across modern web apps, APIs, data stores and distributed systems.
• Strong hands-on with Java, Spring Boot, API development, cloud-native design.
• Experience building secure, maintainable, testable software using OO principles and patterns.
• Experience designing cloud-native, containerized, event-driven solutions.
• Strong DevSecOps across CI/CD, automated testing, code quality, security scanning.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support secure, reliable software aligned with architecture standards.
• Develop Java/Spring Boot APIs, web and PWA capabilities, Azure integrations, data-access components, and containers.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, security checks, protections, and repeatable deployments.
• Apply security-by-design across authentication, authorization, secrets management, sensitive data handling, dependencies, logging, and least-privilege access.
• Mentor engineers, provide code-review feedback, and establish reusable engineering patterns and standards.
• Identify technical risks and roadblocks and collaborate with stakeholders to drive resolution.
