Job summary

Capgemini in Jersey City, NJ seeks a Senior Java AWS Engineer to design, develop, and deploy scalable cloud-native applications on AWS. You will build Java microservices with Spring Boot, implement CI/CD pipelines, and ensure high availability and security for enterprise workloads.

The role requires 7-10+ years in Java development, strong AWS expertise, and experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CloudFormation.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of hands-on experience in Java development, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices architecture.
• Strong expertise in AWS cloud services, including EC2, EKS, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Aurora, DynamoDB, MSK, CloudWatch, IAM, networking, and security.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CloudFormation, and modern DevOps practices.
• Proven ability to build and support large-scale enterprise applications with high availability, scalability, and performance requirements.
• Strong understanding of application security, observability, resiliency, monitoring, and performance tuning in production environments.
• Experience with React and TypeScript and knowledge of event-driven architecture is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support scalable cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and AWS services.
• Build and maintain highly available, secure, and resilient solutions leveraging AWS services such as EC2, EKS, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Aurora, DynamoDB, and MSK.
• Develop modern, responsive web applications and workflow-driven user experiences capable of supporting 10,000+ concurrent users.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation), containerization, and Kubernetes-based deployments.
• Drive application reliability through monitoring, observability, security controls, performance optimization, and disaster recovery planning.
• Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and business teams to deliver modernization initiatives and establish engineering best practices.
