Job summary

Diversified Services Network, Inc. (DSN) is seeking a full-time Senior Software Engineer – Java/AWS Backend to join our team. The role is based in Chicago with hybrid options in Peoria, IL, Dallas, TX, or Broomfield, CO.

You will design backend RESTful APIs, lead teams, and deliver scalable microservices in a cross-functional Agile environment. You will mentor developers, conduct code reviews, and guide architecture decisions while solving complex technical challenges and delivering high-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/EE or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience
• Master's with 6+ years of relevant experience or 10+ years of Java experience in lieu of a degree
• Proficient in Java 17+ and Spring Boot RESTful APIs
• Experience with AWS/Azure cloud deployment
• Experience with messaging systems (Kinesis, SQS, SNS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Event Hub)
• Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Redis)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GoCD)
• Experience with Agile/Scrum
• Knowledge of MVC, Microservices, and Event-driven architectures
• Strong CS fundamentals (data structures & algorithms)
• Ability to lead and mentor teams
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend RESTful API services using microservices architecture
• Mentor and review code for other developers
• Act as team leader for development and support groups
• Tackle complex application and technical problems
• Drive development of valuable business features
• Maintain high software quality and best practices
• Guide documentation and operations materials for the team
• Lead new functionality and applications on Agile projects
