Job summary

BeaconFire Inc. seeks an accomplished software architect to define and drive the architecture for risk and fraud platforms supporting merchant onboarding and lifecycle monitoring.

You will design scalable microservices and event-driven systems using Java 17/21, Spring Boot, Kafka, and AWS, building real-time risk assessment and fraud capabilities while leveraging Agentic AI to automate investigations and workflows.

Qualifications

• 14+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in a Lead or Architect capacity.
• Experience in FinTech, Payments, Fraud, Risk, Compliance, AML, or Merchant Onboarding domains.
• Strong expertise in Java 17/21, Spring Boot, Microservices, and REST APIs.
• Deep hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Strong experience architecting and building solutions on AWS.
• Experience with AI/GenAI solutions, including Agentic AI, LLM integrations, or intelligent workflow automation.
• Strong knowledge of system design, security, scalability, and performance engineering.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive architecture for risk and fraud platforms supporting merchant onboarding and lifecycle monitoring.
• Design scalable microservices and event-driven systems using Java 17/21, Spring Boot, Kafka, and AWS.
• Build real-time risk assessment, fraud detection, compliance, and decisioning capabilities.
• Leverage Agentic AI and ML-driven solutions to automate investigations, risk reviews, and operational workflows.
• Partner with Risk, Compliance, Data Science, and Product teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Drive engineering best practices, system reliability, observability, security, and performance optimization.
• Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership across architecture, design, and implementation.
