Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking an experienced Java Software Engineer to design and build scalable, distributed systems and mentor teams to achieve technical excellence. The role balances strategic architecture with active hands-on development and daily coding.

You will lead architecture design, collaborate with product teams, and coach engineers while ensuring code quality, security, and performance across the stack.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
• Ten+ years of hands-on Java development experience required; mentoring and driving technical direction expected.
• Strong skills in Liferay portal development, multi-threading, and high-performance design; REST/microservices, Agile, and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Drive architecture design for large-scale projects in collaboration with tech partners and business teams.
• Define and implement technical requirements, design, develop, and deploy solutions quickly.
• Lead and inspire cross-functional teams; foster collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide career development guidance.
• Set coding standards, system design, and best practices across the team.
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality, processes, and performance.
• Guard against security threats and drive remediation for resilience.
• Stay current with portal technologies and modernize the tech stack.
• Automate SDLC processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Represent the team in stakeholder discussions with progress updates.
