Job summary

The NYS Office of Information Technology Services seeks a Software Developer to join the NYSDOL Website Redesign project in Albany, NY for a 30-month duration. You will design, implement, and maintain a user-friendly site, delivering integrated components and services in an agile team using Angular and Java, with emphasis on ADA compliance and accessible UI.

Responsibilities include developing REST and SOAP services, complex SQL/DB2 data access, and cloud deployment on GCP or other platforms.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience developing Java-based, multi-tier web applications using J2EE or Spring Boot.
• 4 years of experience developing Angular user interfaces and accessible web apps meeting ADA/WCAG.
• 4 years of experience developing and integrating REST or SOAP services and APIs.
• 2 years of experience with SQL/DB2 and ORM frameworks (Hibernate/JPA).
• 3 years of experience using GitHub or GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
• 2 years of experience on GCP or enterprise cloud platforms with CDN config.
• 2 years of experience documenting existing designs, roadmaps, and technical debt.
• 2 years of experience configuring web servers (Apache/Nginx/IIS) with SSO/CORS/CSP.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, test, implement, and document required use cases for the site.
• Develop accessible UI screens and components using Angular with ADA compliance.
• Develop REST and SOAP services and integrate components into end-to-end processes.
• Create complex SQL/DB2 data-access components and ORM mappings.
• Participate in CI/CD, code reviews, and mentoring State staff on modern practices.
