Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in Jersey City is seeking a Lead Software Engineer within the Corporate and Investment Bank's Markets Tech Team. You will be a core technical contributor shaping architecture, delivering trusted market-leading technologies in a secure, scalable manner.

You will lead development across multiple business functions, drive automation, and participate in design reviews with vendors and internal teams to ensure robust systems and operational stability.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience in Unix Shell Scripts, Apache Kafka, NoSQL databases, REST API, Spring boot, Micro services, Tomcat Oracle, databases etc.
• Expert level Java 8.
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in writing functional/technical specifications.
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
• Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting to build scalable solutions.
• Develops secure high-quality production code and reviews code written by others.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation to improve stability of applications.
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams on architecture and applicability.
