Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Director of IVI Systems and Software Product Engineering to architect and lead the end-to-end IVI portfolio, driving high‑quality, customer‑ready software across global teams. You’ll own the lifecycle from feasibility to OTA improvements, ensuring rigor and safety across all features.

This role requires deep embedded systems expertise, strong product ownership, and the ability to coordinate with Product, Design, and Technical Strategy to deliver robust vehicle

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years in automotive software or consumer electronics, focusing on vehicle embedded development, HMI/Infotainment systems.
• Leadership experience as a “Leader of Leaders” managing large engineering organizations on high-stakes vehicle programs.
• Deep expertise in embedded systems architecture, cloud interactions, and translating UX intent into implementations.
• Masters/advanced degrees or MBA are a plus but not required.
• Strong ability to align senior stakeholders across Design, Product, and Safety on technical execution paths.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive end-to-end technical execution of the IVI portfolio, ensuring feasibility, integration, and quality across vehicle milestones.
• Lead design and traceability work: create Feature HLDs and system APIs aligned with platform constraints.
• Act as the engineering lead within the Triad (Product, Design, Technical Strategy), conducting architecture reviews before implementation.
• Oversee API integration, feature contract negotiations, and compliance with architectural standards.
• Provide technical input for PI Planning; document OKRs and engineering commitments; track open gaps at leadership level.
• Identify and mitigate architecture and integration risks; conduct CR impact assessments with cost/time estimates.
• Define defect isolation strategies; prioritize defects by platform impact and customer experience.
• Sign off on feature releases with validation across HIL/SIL and in-vehicle testing.
