Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior ITS Engineer to provide leadership in planning and implementing technology solutions for transportation issues. This role will have significant client interaction, ensuring innovative transportation technology solutions are effectively integrated.

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in ITS and traffic engineering, hold a valid engineering license, and possess strong communication skills. This position is primarily based in Kansas City, Missouri.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• A minimum of 10 years' experience in ITS and traffic engineering for urban and rural highways, major and minor interchanges and intersections.
• Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license).
• Knowledge of regulations of state and federal transportation agencies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using HCS, CORSIM, Synchro/SIM Traffic and other software packages.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, presentation skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, integration, deployment, and operations of ITS and transportation technology systems.
• Establish client relationships and have significant roles in marketing, contractual, design, and production activities.
• Implement QA/QC procedures.
