Job summary

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) Traffic Management Division seeks a Lead Electronic Technical Specialist to guide the Freeway Operations Maintenance Team and advance ITS modernization. This role offers strong leadership as you supervise field techs, manage daily operations, and drive asset-management upgrades.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience or equivalent education.
• Must obtain IMSA Level III Certification within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations and supervise field technicians.
• Coordinate maintenance, asset management, and digital tools.
• Install, calibrate, and repair ITS hardware and power systems.
• Program ramp meters, vehicle detectors, and Express Lanes controllers.
• Collaborate with project leaders, agencies, and vendors.
• Respond to inquiries, document activities in official logs.
