Job summary

PING, Inc. seeks an Information Technology Systems Engineer II to act as technical lead for enterprise infrastructure across on‑premises and cloud environments.

The role blends traditional systems engineering with platform engineering, focusing on automation, cloud integration, and scalable solutions in the Phoenix area. The ideal candidate will have a 4+ year IT background, strong communication, and hands-on experience with compute, storage, networking, and security in hybrid environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelors’ degree in IT/Computing or related field with 4+ years of experience, or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Proven project management and multitasking abilities with problem-solving focus.
• Experience with enterprise infrastructure, compute, storage, networking, and virtualization.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and hybrid environments, vendor management experience.
• Scripting/automation skills; familiarity with infrastructure-as-code preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise systems including servers and cloud infra.
• Evaluate, install, and secure IT systems, hardware, and software components.
• Manage network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, VPNs, and hybrid links.
• Administer identity access management including directory services and SSO.
• Develop monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure system health and availability.
• Document procedures, support docs, and runbooks for operations.
• Create automation scripts and IaC to streamline provisioning and ops.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective measures.
• Support cloud migrations and disaster recovery planning.
• Mentor junior team members and coordinate vendor support as needed.
