Qualifications

  • Demonstrated IT experience with multiple competencies (Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, Problem Solving).
  • Experience with designing and overseeing large-scale automation projects using RPA tools.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and manage end-to-end RPA initiatives including analysis, bot development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Design or oversee large-scale automation efforts using RPA tools such as UiPath, Power Automate, or Automation Anywhere.
  • Analyze automated workflows and integrations to assess performance, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
  • Plan and execute end-to-end RPA projects from business analysis to deployment and performance monitoring.
  • Serve as an expert advisor to senior leadership on feasibility, governance, and enterprise-wide adoption of RPA/AI technologies.

Job description

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Clinical Standards and Quality, CCSQ, Survey and Operations Group (SOG).

As a Senior IT Specialist (Robotic Process Automation and AI), GS-2210-15, you will report directly to the SOG Leadership and provide highly complex analysis, project management, and program direction for all Divisions within the Group. ALL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.   4. Problem Solving - identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In order to qualify for the GS-15

You must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: (1) Designing or overseeing large-scale automation efforts using robotic process automation (RPA) tools such as UiPath, Microsoft Power Automate, or Automation Anywhere.; (2) Analyzing and reviewing automated workflows, including integrations between RPA tools and other software applications, to assess performance, identify gaps, or recommend improvements.; (3) Planning, scheduling, and carrying out end-to-end RPA projects (from business process analysis and bot development through testing, deployment, and performance monitoring) AND 4) Serving as an expert or consultant to senior leadership on the feasibility, implementation, governance, or enterprise-wide adoption of RPA or AI technologies.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
