Job summary

Diverse Agile Solutions seeks a Senior IT Specialist to support New York State Department of Labor in Albany within a hybrid contract. You will oversee Windows, Linux, and Kubernetes environments, both on‑premises and in the cloud, focusing on reliability, security, and high availability.

You will work with the ITS Office of the CTO and SRE teams, coordinating with state staff, performing admin tasks, and improving automation.

Qualifications

60–84 months of relevant experience in IT operations and admin roles.
Ability to work independently and guide others when needed.
Advanced education or higher-level certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

Administer Windows Server and Linux OS across on‑prem, virtualized, and cloud environments.
Manage virtualization, hypervisor platforms, and VM provisioning with stor./net./resources allocation.
Administer Kubernetes clusters, upgrade components, and troubleshoot container platforms.
Configure access controls, coordinate elevated access with security staff, apply baselines.
Monitor capacity, performance, and availability; tune resources and resolve incidents during shifts.
Implement high‑availability configurations including clustering, failover, and backup tests.
Write and maintain automation/configuration scripts and process change requests.
Document root causes, actions, diagrams, and operational procedures.
