Knowledge Builders Inc. is seeking a Senior IT Specialist to administer Windows Server, Linux, and Kubernetes in a hybrid environment for NY State Department of Labor’s UISIM project.

The role focuses on operational support, high availability, and automation across on‑premises and cloud platforms. The position requires extensive enterprise-level experience with Windows and Linux, Kubernetes, cloud deployments, and security hardening.

Qualificações

• 84 months of experience administering Windows Server in an enterprise environment.
• 84 months of experience administering Linux server operating systems in an enterprise environment (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.).
• 60 months of experience administering Kubernetes or an equivalent container orchestration platform.
• 72 months of experience administering servers in a public or private cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• 72 months of experience implementing high availability configurations (clustering, failover, replication, backup/restore).
• 72 months of experience configuring privileged and administrative access.
• 60 months of experience using infrastructure automation/configuration tooling (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, PowerShell, Bash).
• 60 months of experience applying security baselines and remediating vulnerability scans.
• 60 months of experience using enterprise monitoring/alerting tools.

Responsabilidades

• Perform hands-on administration of Windows Server and Linux operating systems across on-premises, virtualized, and cloud environments.
• Administer enterprise virtualization and hypervisor platforms, including host configuration, VM provisioning, and storage/network/resource assignment.
• Administer Kubernetes clusters supporting UISIM workloads through node provisioning, component upgrades, and container platform troubleshooting.
• Configure and review privileged and administrative access controls, coordinate elevated account requests with Agency security staff, apply security baselines, remediate vulnerability findings.
• Monitor system capacity, performance, and availability using Agency tools, tune resources, and troubleshoot incidents and service requests during scheduled hours.
• Implement and validate high-availability configurations (clustering, failover, replication, backup/restore testing), write automation scripts, and execute change requests within change windows.
• Support State technical staff through guidance and knowledge transfer and report progress/risks in status meetings.
