We are currently looking for a Senior IT Solution Engineer - AI Transformation to join our team in Holland, MI.

Job Overview

As a Solution Engineer in AI Transformation you will take ownership of complex software development and solution engineering work, independently designing, coding, developing, debugging, implementing, and supporting high-quality IT solutions. Apply in-depth technical expertise to solve complex challenges, maintain quality and standards, and mentor other developers and engineers. As the Expert AI Transformation specialization, lead the evaluation, architecture, implementation, governance, and scaling of secure, reliable, responsible, and measurable AI-enabled solutions across the enterprise. Candidates with mid-level through advanced experience are encouraged to apply. Job level and compensation will be aligned with the selected candidate's experience and qualifications.

Job Responsibilities

• Analyze user and business requirements and design scalable technical solutions using enterprise applications, data platforms, artificial intelligence, automation, and other appropriate technologies.
• Develop, code, integrate, debug, implement, maintain, and support complex systems and subsystems, including AI-enabled solutions, with emphasis on quality, reliability, maintainability, and measurable business value.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, business stakeholders, Information Technology, Data and Analytics, Digital, Operational Technology, cybersecurity, privacy, legal, risk, and external partners to align requirements, designs, controls, and outcomes.
• Lead technical evaluation, architecture, proof-of-concept, pilot, and implementation activities for artificial intelligence, machine learning, generative AI, agentic AI, and intelligent automation solutions; define success measures and recommend whether solutions should scale, change, or stop.
• Develop and maintain reference architectures, engineering standards, reusable components, implementation patterns, and technical documentation that promote secure, consistent, supportable, and scalable delivery.
• Review code, solution designs, models, configurations, and technical deliverables to ensure quality, security, responsible AI use, governance compliance, and adherence to enterprise standards.
• Maintain awareness and understanding of the technology stack available to developers and engineers, selecting and applying the appropriate technology for defined business and technical needs.
• Establish and support development, testing, deployment, monitoring, lifecycle management, and production support practices using Agile, DevOps, and MLOps methodologies.
• Maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art technology and industry trends; evaluate AI technologies, models, frameworks, platforms, and vendor offerings; and recommend appropriate technologies to department leadership based on business fit, security, scalability, maintainability, cost, and value.
• Participate in project planning, estimation, prioritization, and roadmap development activities, providing technical input and leadership throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Provide technical mentoring, design review, troubleshooting, knowledge transfer, and clear communication of technical concepts, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Use Haworth office automation, communication, software, and tools; perform other duties within scope as assigned; and perform all essential job functions with or without accommodation.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology or similar relevant field of study
• Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree plus 2 years related experience OR 4 years related experience if no post-secondary education
• Work Experience: 5 years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, data, AI, or related technology disciplines with a Bachelor's Degree, or 3 years with a Master's Degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with generative AI, large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, AI agents, Microsoft Copilot technologies, or enterprise AI platforms.
• Experience with manufacturing, supply chain, product development, digital workplace, or Operational Technology environments.
• Experience implementing AI governance, model risk management, Responsible AI, data privacy, cybersecurity, or regulatory controls.
• Relevant certifications in AI, cloud computing, architecture, data engineering, cybersecurity, or DevOps.
• Advanced knowledge of AI and machine learning solution architecture, software engineering, cloud architecture, data engineering, APIs, integration, DevOps, and MLOps.
• Ability to balance innovation with enterprise requirements for security, privacy, reliability, supportability, scalability, and cost management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate ambiguous opportunities and recommend clear technical paths.
• Strong facilitation, written communication, presentation, and stakeholder-influencing skills.
• Ability to lead through influence, mentor others, collaborate across organizational boundaries, and manage multiple priorities in a changing environment.
