Job summary

American Airlines is seeking software engineers to design, build, and optimize distributed systems that power core business processes. You will work across Azure, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and modern web stacks to deliver scalable solutions that support the airline's digital products and operations.

You will mentor teammates, drive best practices, and collaborate with security, data, and product teams to ensure robust, secure, and high-performing applications in a fast-paced aviation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• 3+ years designing, developing, and deploying large-scale production solutions.

Responsibilities

• Write, test, and document code, scripts, and processes per standards.
• Resolve technical problems and build reusable components/libraries.
• Mentor junior engineers and deliver high-quality work.
• Perform root cause analysis and lead corrective actions.
• Design integrated systems enabling cross-functional teams at scale.
• Manage technical debt and drive improvement initiatives.
• Anticipate scaling, latency, and durability challenges.
• Collaborate with security teams to enforce secure practices.
• Assess risk and implement prevention strategies.
• Evaluate delivery practices and drive improvements.
• Promote code reuse and reduce duplication.
• Measure team performance and support growth.
• Prototype emerging technologies and integrate into architecture.
