Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center is seeking an experienced IT Security professional to lead the hospital's information security program. The role requires coordinating with privacy, compliance and audit, and serving as the HIPAA Security Officer to ensure compliance across the organization.

The position involves establishing security standards, conducting risk assessments, managing policies, and leading incident response efforts for a complex healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• HIPAA Security Officer responsibilities and compliance
• Develop and maintain IT Security Program for assessment, prevention, detection and response
• Establish and maintain IT and Security policy program and ensure up-to-date communications
• Lead risk assessment and vulnerability scans with remediation plans
• Manage security standards for networks, servers, workstations and devices
• Lead incident investigations and breach reporting as needed

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain close working relationships with Privacy, Compliance and Audit teams
• Chair hospital-wide security committee and participate in Board-level committees
• Develop and publish a Security Scorecard with KPIs
• Implement user access controls including RBAC, provisioning and de-provisioning
• Lead IT incident investigations with internal and external groups
• Oversee security policy enforcement in new system implementations
• Develop security awareness training materials and onboarding content
• Serve as point of contact for vendors and service providers on IT Security
