Job summary

University of Central Florida (UCF) is seeking an Information Technology Security Professional IV to advance cybersecurity operations across enterprise and CUI environments. You will lead incident response, support SOC functions, and design secure infrastructure while collaborating with researchers, compliance, and IT teams.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or high school diploma with 9+ years in lieu of degree
• Equivalent combination of education and experience per Fla. Stat. 112.219(6)
• Experience with SOC and incident response functions preferred
• Knowledge of CrowdStrike, NG-SIEM, MS Sentinel, Defender and Entra ID
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity incident response activities including detection, containment, and post-incident reviews
• Support SOC functions: monitoring, threat hunting, investigation and coordination
• Design, implement, and maintain security technologies and secure infrastructure
• Provide cybersecurity guidance for university initiatives and projects
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation
• Collaborate with stakeholders to promote secure operations
• Develop security policies, playbooks, and operational documentation
