Job summary

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking an IT Security Professional for Finance and Operations IT. This senior role leads planning, implementation, and ongoing management of secure, high-performance IT infrastructure and systems across the university, supporting peers and departments.

The position requires broad expertise in information security, server and database administration, network architecture, and IT project management.

Qualifications

• Mastery of Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, IIS.
• Experience with SQL Server high-availability and Always On.
• Basic Linux administration and command-line skills.
• Experience with enterprise apps spanning backend DBs, file servers and web front-ends.
• Understanding of high-availability, load balancing and network infra.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and enforcement of secure network architecture.
• Deploy monitoring tools, manage security incidents and forensics.
• Develop and maintain information security policies and procedures.
• Consult with campus units on secure operations and change management.
• Oversee IT projects from initiation through completion and DR/BC planning.
