A leading government partner is seeking an experienced IT Senior Project Manager to oversee complex IT projects for the State of California. This role, offered as a 15-month contract that can be performed remotely, requires extensive project management experience and leadership skills, particularly in managing multidisciplinary teams within California IT initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management methodologies and demonstrate proficiency in MS Project along with a PMP certification.

Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking an IT Senior Project Manager with experience working with the State of California for a government client. This is a 15-month contract role that can be performed remotely.

Qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI
• At least seven (7) years of broad experience applying project management principles, methods, techniques, and tools, with a minimum of four (4) years as a senior project manager on large or complex IT projects
• At least five (5) years of proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams on California state IT projects, including technical staff, business staff, consultants, and stakeholders
• At least two (2) years of experience as a lead project manager on projects of similar size and complexity, managing all project phases
• Experience preparing project plans, schedules, risk and issue management plans, and budget projections in accordance with PMBOK standards
• Experience managing large-scale integration projects involving system development and vendor management
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Project
