Ulta Beauty is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to support accounting, forecasting, governance, and close activities for the IT project portfolio, including capital projects and cloud/SaaS initiatives. You will partner with IT Finance, FP&A, and leadership to ensure compliant accounting treatment and financial visibility.

The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.
• 3–5+ years of accounting, project accounting, corporate accounting, public accounting, or related finance experience.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including capital versus expense treatment under U.S. GAAP (ASC 350-40, ASC 360).

Responsabilités

• Support annual IT project planning by preparing project financial information and validating assumptions.
• Independently evaluate and document accounting treatment for IT project costs, including cloud/SaaS and capitalized labor.
• Support project intake and governance with guidance on funding, capitalization, and documentation.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities for IT projects with reconciliations and close workpapers.
• Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Maintain project financial trackers and prepare forecast inputs for IT projects.
• Support quarterly CIP reviews, SOX controls, and audit requests.
• Provide technical guidance and training to Project Accountants and stakeholders.
