Job summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA), is seeking an IT Program Manager for a CONTRACT assignment in Orlando, FL. This role manages IT and business deliverables across programs, driving demand, dependencies, schedules, and estimation, using Waterfall or Agile methodologies.

You will oversee multiple programs, controlling scope, schedule, and cost, with 2–36 month durations and program budgets from $2M to $50M. Strong leadership and communication to executive sponsors are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related discipline or equivalent.
• Project Management certification or equivalent.
• Master level experience / proficiency in MS Office Suite of products, (i.e. Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Proficiency with Clarity, Jira, and Confluence
• 10+ years of experience in a Project and/or Program Management role with a strong background in team development and Program Management office as well as leading large programs.
• 7+ years in an information technology capacity with understanding of various technologies including, applications, databases, networking, telecommunications and connectivity
• 1+ years of experience with Agile Projects
• High decision-making authority regarding scope, schedule, and cost of program or portfolio of projects with team input.
• Moderate autonomy in areas of schedule/budget, changes reviewed to ensure best interests of the corporation.
• Full autonomy in areas related to the development of the work plans and communication plans of the program or portfolio.
• Strong leadership, facilitation, negotiation, mentoring and personnel management
• Strong communication skills and ability to present to Executive Level management.
• Oversite of leading and creating presentations for Program Steering Committee(s)
• Experience leading and or managing resources - including establishing development plans, coaching/mentoring, and conflict resolution.
• Experience managing program level and project financials, schedules, scope and risks using established methodology.
• Experience managing internal and external client expectations on program requirements and deliverables
• Experience leading large and diverse IT project teams in a matrix environment
• Experience leading medium to large scale new application development or infrastructure deployment projects.
• Experience with multiple SDLCs (Iterative, Agile, Waterfall)
• Understanding of enterprise infrastructure platforms and security/compliance policies
• Experience in procurement management of large projects

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple programs that may include 2–5 projects per program and ensure delivery of key benefits.
• Own scope, schedule, and financial cost of assigned programs; typical durations range from 2 to 36 months.
• Lead communications to IT/business leadership, sponsors, and vendors; prepare status reports and reviews.
• Direct program and project financial management, including expenditures and reporting; oversee vendor relations.
• Manage risks, issues, and changes using PMO processes; advise project managers on governance decisions.
• Improve scheduling techniques and contribute to the maturity of IT PMO practices and roadmaps.
