Job summary

City of Colorado Springs seeks a Senior IT Project Manager to lead multiple complex IT projects from initiation through close-out, coordinating teams, tracking progress, and mitigating risks. The role includes mentoring junior PMs and translating business needs into technical outcomes.

Ideal candidates have PMP or similar certifications and a bachelor’s degree, with several years of related IT project leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
• Five years of full-time, professional experience in a related field, including three years of administrator and/or supervisory experience.
• PMP or other PM certifications such as PgMP, CAPM, SAFe, ECBA are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple large/complex IT projects from initiation through close-out.
• Develop project charters, schedules, risk plans, and go-live documentation.
• Lead cross-functional teams, mentor junior project managers, and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Coordinate business, technical, and vendor teams to deliver high-value IT solutions on time and within budget.
• Communicate status, risks, issues, milestones, and decisions to leadership.
