Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead complex, cross‑functional technology initiatives within the CDSD division of CRG, including programs supporting business transformation, technology modernization, application/integration delivery, and operational change. The role requires strong ownership of scope, schedule, budget, resources, dependencies, quality, risks, governance, business readiness, and overall delivery outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-End Project Delivery
    • Lead 1-2 complex technology projects simultaneously, depending on project size, scope, and complexity.
    • Develop, maintain, and execute integrated project plans covering scope, milestones, schedule, resources, dependencies, budget, quality, testing, deployment, and business readiness.
    • Translate project objectives and business requirements into clear workstreams, deliverables, milestones, ownership, and measurable outcomes.
    • Drive projects from initiation and planning through execution, deployment, transition, and closure.
    • Coordinate multiple workstreams and ensure cross‑functional dependencies are identified, tracked, and resolved.
    • Partner with other Project Managers, workstream leads, technical leads, and business leaders on larger transformation initiatives.
  • Business Transformation & Value Realization
    • Connect technology delivery to broader business transformation objectives and desired business outcomes.
    • Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational priorities, pain points, process impacts, and transformation goals.
    • Translate desired business outcomes into actionable plans covering process change, organizational readiness, adoption, deployment, and benefits realization.
    • Ensure business readiness activities are integrated into the overall project plan rather than managed separately from technology delivery.
    • Identify barriers to adoption and work with business stakeholders to develop appropriate mitigation and change strategies.
    • Track whether delivered capabilities are positioned to achieve the intended business value and transformation outcomes.
  • Cross‑Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Management
    • Coordinate business, IT, vendors, technical teams, and geographically distributed stakeholders.
    • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, ownership, and decision‑making structures across project teams.
    • Facilitate effective collaboration between technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
    • Drive decisions, actions, dependencies, and issue resolution to closure.
    • Build strong working relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders.
    • Manage competing priorities and facilitate trade‑off decisions when required.
  • Risk, Issue & Recovery Management
    • Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, constraints, and decisions.
    • Assess project health across schedule, budget, scope, resources, quality, testing, adoption, and business readiness.
    • Identify early indicators of delivery risk and elevate appropriately.
    • Lead recovery planning when schedule, budget, scope, quality, adoption, or readiness is at risk.
    • Develop realistic corrective action and recovery plans with clear owners, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
    • Present options, impacts, trade‑offs, and recommendations to senior stakeholders to facilitate timely decisions.
  • Vendor, Contract & Financial Management
    • Manage third‑party vendors and technology partners throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Track vendor deliverables, milestones, dependencies, performance, and contractual commitments.
    • Manage and monitor SOWs, contracts, resource commitments, and vendor obligations.
    • Own project financial management, including budgets, forecasts, actuals, accruals, variances, and financial reporting.
    • Identify budget or forecast risks early and implement corrective actions.
    • Ensure vendor delivery remains aligned with business requirements, project milestones, quality expectations, and financial commitments.
  • Governance, Compliance & Controls
    • Establish and maintain strong project governance in accordance with organizational PMO and delivery standards.
    • Maintain RAID logs, decision logs, action trackers, integrated schedules, status reports, financial trackers, and governance documentation.
    • Ensure project documentation is complete, current, traceable, and audit‑ready.
    • Maintain required compliance evidence, approvals, stage gates, and project controls.
    • Support internal and external audits where required.
    • Ensure projects operating within regulated or controlled environments follow applicable governance, quality, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Technology Delivery & Dependency Management
    • Work effectively with technical teams and translate complex technical dependencies into clear project plans and business impacts.
    • Coordinate delivery across areas such as:

    • Ensure technical dependencies, testing requirements, environment readiness, and release activities are appropriately reflected in the integrated project schedule.
  • Executive Communication & Reporting
    • Provide concise, fact‑based project status reporting to senior business and IT stakeholders.
    • Clearly communicate project health, accomplishments, upcoming milestones, risks, issues, financial status, decisions, dependencies, and required actions.
    • Develop executive‑level status reports, dashboards, steering committee materials, and recommendations.
    • Escalate issues appropriately when executive intervention or trade‑off decisions are required.
    • Communicate complex technical or delivery challenges in clear business language.
    • Provide recommendations rather than simply reporting problems.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • 10 years of overall IT experience, with significant experience managing complex technology projects.
  • 7 years of demonstrated ownership of large, complex, cross‑functional IT initiatives from initiation through deployment and closure.
  • 5 years of strong experience managing multiple workstreams, vendors, dependencies, and geographically distributed teams.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage integrated project plans covering scope, schedule, resources, budget, quality, dependencies, and business readiness.

  • Strong experience with risk, issue, dependency, decision, and recovery management.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying troubled projects and developing and executing recovery plans.
  • Experience managing technology dependencies involving integrations, data, cloud/SaaS, testing, deployment, and release readiness.
  • Strong project governance and documentation experience.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect technology initiatives to business priorities, operating impacts, and transformation outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently, make informed decisions, challenge assumptions constructively, and drive teams toward measurable outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience delivering business transformation or technology‑enabled transformation programs.
  • Experience within Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Clinical Research, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience working in regulated, validated, or highly controlled environments.
  • Understanding of compliance, audit, quality, and documentation requirements associated with regulated technology delivery.
  • Experience with organizational change, business readiness, adoption, and benefits realization.
  • Experience managing global programs involving teams across multiple countries and time zones.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, PMI‑ACP, Scrum, SAFe, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on professional who takes end‑to‑end ownership rather than functioning primarily as a project coordinator. Candidates should be able to provide specific examples demonstrating:

  • Ownership and successful delivery of complex, multi‑workstream technology projects.
  • Delivery of technology initiatives supporting measurable business transformation outcomes.
  • Management of significant project budgets, forecasts, vendors, and SOWs.

  • Management of complex technical dependencies involving integrations, data, cloud/SaaS, testing, and releases.
