The Senior Internal IT Engineer role focuses on secure, reliable operations, identity and access management, device management, and IT tooling rollouts to support a high-ownership, async work environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Internal IT, IT Operations, or Systems Admin in modern SaaS environments.
• Strong experience with IAM, endpoint management, SaaS admin, and security best practices.
• Hands-on experience managing distributed or remote-first environments.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve internal IT landscape for secure, reliable day-to-day operations across endpoints and SaaS tooling.
• Drive operational maturity by structuring processes and reducing manual support work.
• Lead and coordinate IT projects from onboarding automation to security improvements.
• Act as a trusted technical partner ensuring clear communication and prioritization across distributed teams.
• Improve security posture with stronger access controls and compliant processes.
• Manage and optimize the SaaS ecosystem for usability, cost, and maintainability.
• Create scalable internal processes and documentation for autonomy and resilience.
• Contribute to audits, compliance efforts, and business continuity initiatives.

The work you’ll do… As a Senior Internal IT Engineer atPublitas, you’ll build and scale the internal technology foundation that enables our distributed teams to work securely, efficiently, and without friction. You’ll combine hands-on technical expertise with operational ownership and process thinking to improve the reliability and maturity of our internal IT environment.

You will:

• Own and continuously improve our internal IT landscape, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable day-to-day operations across endpoints, SaaS tooling, identity, and access management.
• Drive operational maturity by creating structure, improving workflows, and reducing manual or reactive support work across the organization.
• Lead and coordinate internal IT projects, from onboarding automation and device management to security improvements and tooling rollouts.
• Act as a trusted technical partner for employees and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, prioritization, and follow-through across distributed teams.
• Improve our security posture by strengthening access controls, endpoint management, compliance processes, and operational best practices.
• Manage and optimize our SaaS ecosystem, balancing usability, security cost-efficiency, and maintainability.
• Create scalable internal processes and documentation that enable autonomy, consistency, and operational resilience as the company grows.
• Contribute to company-wide operational readiness initiatives, including audits, compliance efforts, and business continuity improvements.

What you bring…

• 5+ years of experience in Internal IT, IT Operations, or Systems Administration within modern SaaS environments.
• Strong experience with identity and access management, endpoint management, SaaS administration, and security best practices.
• Hands-on experience managing distributed or remote-first environments.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills - you can independently drive initiatives from planning to execution.
• A process-oriented mindset focused on scalability, automation, and operational clarity.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
• The ability to balance hands-on execution with longer-term operational improvements.
