SaaS Conversion Remote (US) Full-time $120,000 - $175,000

Syntas is hiring a Full-Stack Developer to build custom internal tools and applications that help our clients break free from expensive SaaS dependencies. You will design and develop bespoke software solutions—from employee portals and workflow applications to data dashboards and automation tools that replace costly third-party subscriptions with systems clients own and control. This role is perfect for engineers who love building complete applications from database to user interface and take pride in creating software that solves real business problems. You will work across diverse projects, learning new domains quickly and delivering solutions that clients can maintain and extend long after our engagement ends.

As a Full-Stack Developer at Syntas, you will be the engineer who builds the tools companies actually need—not generic SaaS products that force businesses to adapt their processes, but custom solutions designed around how each client actually works. Every engagement starts with understanding a business problem: what are they paying for, what does it actually do for them, and can we build something better, cheaper, and more tailored to their needs?

The projects you will work on span a wide range of applications. You might build an internal CRM that fits a specific sales process without the bloat of Salesforce. You could create a project management system tailored to how a particular team actually collaborates. Or develop a custom analytics platform that surfaces exactly the metrics leadership cares about, integrated with their specific data sources. The common thread is building software that fits like a glove rather than forcing clients to wear one-size-fits-all solutions.

Technical ownership is a defining feature of this role. You will make architectural decisions, choose technology stacks appropriate for each project, and build systems from the ground up. Sometimes you will start from scratch; other times you will customize and extend open-source foundations. You will need to balance building quickly—clients want to see value fast—with building sustainably so the systems you create can be maintained long-term.

Client handoff is an important consideration in every project. Unlike typical agency work where you throw code over the wall, we want clients to successfully own and extend what we build. This means writing clean, documented code, choosing technologies that match client capabilities, creating operational runbooks, and training client teams on the systems you deliver. The measure of success is not just launch day—it is whether the system continues delivering value years later.

What You Will Build
  • 1 Custom internal tools replacing expensive SaaS products: CRMs, project managers, HR systems, and more
  • 2 Data dashboards and analytics applications tailored to specific business metrics and workflows
  • 3 Workflow automation applications that digitize and streamline manual business processes
  • 4 Client portals and customer-facing applications with modern, responsive user interfaces
  • 5 API integrations connecting custom applications with existing business systems
  • 6 Admin panels and back-office tools that give operations teams control over business data
  • 7 Documentation, training materials, and handoff packages for client-maintained systems
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and build full-stack web applications from database schema to user interface
  • Architect solutions that balance rapid delivery with long-term maintainability
  • Develop responsive, accessible front-end interfaces using modern frameworks
  • Build robust back-end services with appropriate data models, APIs, and business logic
  • Integrate applications with client systems including databases, APIs, and authentication providers
  • Implement security best practices including authentication, authorization, and data protection
  • Write clean, documented, tested code that client teams can understand and maintain
  • Make technology choices appropriate for each project considering client capabilities and constraints
  • Collaborate with clients to gather requirements, present designs, and iterate based on feedback
  • Create deployment pipelines and infrastructure for production applications
  • Develop documentation, runbooks, and training materials for client handoffs
  • Support clients through knowledge transfer and initial operational period
  • Contribute to internal component libraries and frameworks that accelerate future projects
What We Are Looking For
  • 4+ years of full-stack development experience building production web applications
  • Strong proficiency with modern front-end frameworks: React, Vue, or similar
  • Solid back-end development skills with Node.js, Python, or similar technologies
  • Experience with relational databases, data modeling, and SQL
  • Understanding of API design principles: REST, GraphQL, authentication patterns
  • Familiarity with cloud deployment: AWS, GCP, or Azure services for hosting applications
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
  • Strong HTML/CSS skills including responsive design and accessibility
  • Knowledge of security best practices for web applications
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to learn new domains quickly
  • Strong communication skills for working directly with clients
  • Self-directed work style with ability to manage projects from requirements to deployment
Nice to Have
  • Experience with TypeScript for both front-end and back-end development
  • Background with low-code platforms (Retool, Appsmith) for rapid internal tool development
  • Familiarity with open-source self-hosted alternatives to common SaaS products
  • Experience with specific application domains: CRM, HR systems, project management, analytics
  • Knowledge of AI integration: incorporating LLM features into applications
  • Experience with mobile development or responsive PWA applications
  • Background in UI/UX design and user research
  • Understanding of data migration and system replacement strategies
  • Prior consulting or agency experience with client-facing delivery
  • Experience with specific industries: healthcare compliance, financial services, manufacturing
  • Contributions to open-source projects
  • Technical writing or documentation experience
