Job Description: Sr. IT Operations Engineer

Location: Remote

The Senior IT Operations Engineer serves as a senior technical resource within the IT Operations team, which includes Operations Engineers and Technicians. Key responsibilities include:

• Implementing, testing, and troubleshooting IT processes and procedures for enterprise products
• Maintaining and creating documentation
• Designing automation and process improvements
• Serving as an escalation point for technical issues
• Training and mentoring team members
• Researching and vetting new technologies

Responsibilities

• Design and configure complex system landscapes
• Administer systems and databases at a moderate complexity level
• Monitor and optimize system performance
• Ensure system uptime across platforms
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently
• Support other teams with systems issues
• Prepare statistical reports
• Coordinate with vendors for support and support planning
• Update training manuals and procedures
• Develop strategies for infrastructure optimization and standardization
• Assist with onboarding new systems
• Collaborate with vendors on platform strategies
• Mentor team members and support professional development
• Oversee database solutions and enhancements
• Maintain system support documentation
• Support SQL queries and reports
• Monitor system health, including infrastructure, servers, and storage

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft platforms, both local and cloud
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and related services
• 10+ years of experience managing workstation and server platforms
• Leadership experience managing engineering teams
• Knowledge of server hardware, networking, storage, and disaster recovery
• Scripting skills in CMD, PowerShell, Python, etc.
• Experience supporting Windows Server 2019-2025, VMware vSphere, and Linux/MacOS
• Experience with enterprise infrastructure projects and documentation
• Ability to work independently and develop project plans
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Necessary Skills and Abilities

• Excellent communication, time management, and presentation skills
• Minimum 10 years in IT systems roles
• Customer service orientation and positive attitude
• Strong troubleshooting and technical skills
• Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives

Salary range: $123,300 - $159,799 USD, with benefits including PTO, 401k match, and healthcare contributions. Specifics to be provided during hiring.
