Piper Companies in Fairfax, VA is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a leading engineering and infrastructure organization. The role focuses on delivering IT infrastructure and data center projects, with emphasis on cross-functional collaboration and executive communication.

You will manage full project delivery lifecycle, supervise vendor relationships, and drive migrations and hyper-care support.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of Project Management experience supporting IT infrastructure or data center environments.
• Demonstrated understanding of IT Operations, Systems Migration, Security, and enterprise technology initiatives.
• Experience working with data center technologies and concepts including WAPs, fiber connectivity, wave circuits, and related infrastructure.
• Proven ability to manage technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.
• Strong executive communication skills with experience presenting project updates, risks, and recommendations.
• Experience working with project management platforms such as ClickUp, Jira, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• PMP certification preferred.Scrum, Agile, Product Owner, or related project delivery training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage infrastructure-focused projects throughout the full project delivery lifecycle.
• Partner with the outgoing Project Manager to facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure a seamless transition of responsibilities.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including Engineering, PMO leadership, IT Operations, vendors, and business stakeholders.
• Drive project execution related to data center technologies, system migrations, network infrastructure, and operational initiatives.
• Communicate project status, milestones, risks, and dependencies to leadership and executive stakeholders.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure project deliverables remain on schedule and within scope.
• Support a recently completed enterprise IT migration currently in a hyper-care phase, helping drive adoption and issue resolution.
• Facilitate recurring status meetings and maintain project documentation utilizing ClickUp.
