Job summary

Axiom Path is recruiting on behalf of a major global financial institution to join its Technology Business Management team in Charlotte.

The Senior IT Financial Analyst will lead budgeting, forecasting, and executive reporting across technology; collaborate with Finance, PMO, Risk, and Compliance; deliver dashboards and regulator-facing materials in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in technology finances or related roles.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, variance reporting skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to develop executive-ready presentations.
• Experience with IT finance within financial services or consulting.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or Visio preferred.
• Knowledge of TBM/Apptio or ServiceNow is a plus.
• Experience with technology portfolio management and vendor spend analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead technology budget preparation, forecasting, expense analysis, and financial tracking.
• Partner with Finance to analyze tech expenditures and explain financial drivers.
• Coordinate consultant requests, headcount requisitions, onboarding, and workforce tracking.
• Develop executive presentations and materials for senior leadership and regulators.
• Build dashboards and scorecards to monitor technology KPIs and financial performance.
• Collaborate with PMO on financial transactions across the IT portfolio.
• Work with Procurement on vendor contracts and expenditures.
• Support Risk, Compliance, Audit and HR on departmental requirements.
• Contribute to Total Cost of Ownership initiatives and technology transformation.
• Coordinate ongoing improvement initiatives across IT Business Management.

How You Will Make An Impact

• Lead technology budget preparation, forecasting, expense analysis, and financial tracking across a large technology organization.
  
• Partner closely with Finance to analyze technology expenditures, identify budget variances, and clearly explain key financial drivers.
  
• Coordinate consultant requests, headcount requisitions, onboarding, and workforce-related financial tracking.
  
• Develop executive-level presentations, management reporting, and materials for senior leadership and regulatory discussions.
  
• Build and maintain dashboards and scorecards used to monitor technology KPIs, KRIs, financial performance, and operational priorities.
  
• Partner with the central PMO on financial transactions and reporting across the broader IT portfolio.
  
• Work with Procurement to analyze third-party technology vendors, contracts, and associated expenditures.
  
• Support internal control partners including Risk, Compliance, Audit, HR, and Business Continuity on departmental requirements and escalations.
  
• Contribute to Total Cost of Ownership initiatives and broader technology transformation efforts.
  
• Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives across the IT Business Management function.
  
• Manage ad hoc projects, executive communications, and portfolio reporting while balancing changing priorities and tight deadlines.
  

Requirements

Do You Bring Proven Success in Technology Business Management and Financial Analysis?

• 10+ years of experience in business management, technology financial management, IT finance, or a closely related function within financial services or consulting.
  
• Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, expense analysis, variance reporting, and financial management.
  
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  
• Strong ability to develop executive-ready presentations and communicate complex financial or technology information clearly.
  
• Experience working with technology organizations and a strong understanding of the broader IT landscape.
  
• Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously.
  
• Strong analytical capabilities, including the ability to evaluate data, identify trends, and translate findings into recommendations.
  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience supporting diverse senior-level stakeholders.
  
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and operate effectively in a changing, deadline-driven environment.
  
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Visio is preferred.
  
• Knowledge of ServiceNow and/or TBM/Apptio is a plus.
  
• Experience with Total Cost of Ownership, technology portfolio management, vendor spend analysis, or IT financial governance is highly desirable.
