Job summary

Cherry Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior IT Engineer to own the internal IT stack, including identity, device lifecycle, and onboarding/offboarding across a fully remote U.S. workforce. You’ll partner with security and operations to automate workflows, enforce least-privilege access, and keep systems reliable and compliant.

You’ll lead end-to-end ITSM, vendor tools, and the deployment of Okta, Google Workspace, and MDM, while mentoring teammates and documenting playbooks for scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT engineering, systems administration, or similar internal-IT roles, startup or regulated industries preferred.
• Hands-on experience administering IdP (Okta) and major collaboration suites (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365).
• Experience with ITSM platforms and incident/change/request workflows.
• Comfort with scripting or light automation to cut repetitive work.
• Strong networking fundamentals and endpoint management knowledge.
• Experience supporting SOC 2, PCI-DSS, or similar IT audits.
• Ability to work independently as a senior/sole IT resource.
• Security-first mindset with user empathy.

Responsibilities

• Own internal IT stack end-to-end: identity/SSO, Google Workspace, device management, and core SaaS tools.
• Design and automate onboarding, offboarding, and access changes across internal systems.
• Own endpoint management and device lifecycle end-to-end, including procurement, imaging, inventory, repair, and retirement for a remote workforce.
• Serve as first responder for IT issues—triaging, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, accounts, and access problems.
• Partner with Security on SOC 2 and audits, including access reviews and least-privilege enforcement.
• Reduce manual IT work via automation and scripting.
• Escalation point for complex IT issues; hands-on resource for the company.
• Own ITSM: manage tickets, define incident/change workflows, track SLAs.
• Document systems, runbooks, and processes for scaling knowledge.
