Job description

About Next Perimeter:

Next Perimeter runs IT and security for companies that want both to be quiet. The job is engineering calm: standardized environments, a modern stack, and no legacy infrastructure to babysit.

The inside of the company works the same way. Clear goals every quarter. Your own lane, with no layer between you and the outcome. The salary range is on the listing. PTO is unlimited. Hybrid opens up after onboarding. Offices in Tampa and Los Angeles.

Calm. By design.

The Role:

We're hiring a Senior IT Engineer to own two things: delivering client projects and being the final technical escalation point for our help desk. This is a hands‑on role for an engineer who loves to build but also understands the business value of what they're building.

What You’ll Be Doing:

You'll lead client projects from signed scope to handoff: network builds and wireless redesigns, Microsoft 365 tenant‑to‑tenant migrations, office and data center moves, new‑client onboarding, and client offboarding. At kickoff, you'll review the scope and flag anything that doesn't add up before work starts. From there, you'll run the technical work and serve as the client's go‑to engineer while the project is live. Your calendar includes protected blocks for focused engineering work, so complex builds aren't constantly interrupted.

You'll also own the hardest tickets. When an issue goes past our Tier III team lead, whether it's a hybrid identity sync failure, a Conditional Access lockout, or a site‑down network outage, it comes to you. You won't just close the ticket. You'll find out why it happened, fix the root cause, and turn the fix into a standard or an automation so it doesn't come back.

You'll help keep client environments on standard, too. When you see a client drifting from The IT & Security Blueprint, such as legacy authentication left enabled or shadow IT creeping in, you'll flag it and carry out the remediation. What you learn on real implementations feeds back into our configuration templates.

Along the way, you'll mentor our technicians on cloud identity, endpoint management, and networking.

What We’re Looking For:

You have 5+ years in IT engineering. We're looking for mastery, or close to it, in the modern Microsoft and security stack: Microsoft Entra ID and Conditional Access for identity; Microsoft Intune, including Autopilot, configuration profiles, and compliance policies, for endpoints; and NinjaOne and HaloPSA for operations. Legacy on‑premises infrastructure is a small part of our fleet.

You've personally led Microsoft 365 migrations and client onboardings, not just assisted on them. You've built networks, including switching, VLANs, enterprise wireless, firewalls, and circuit cutovers, and you use PowerShell to get work done.

You care about outcomes, not ticket counts. You also have a consultant's instincts: you can sit with a CEO and explain why their team needs Microsoft 365 Business Premium without losing them in jargon, and you're steady as the technical voice with clients during a cutover or an outage. And you're detail‑obsessed. A missed line item in a scope or a gap in a handoff document becomes someone's headache later, so you measure twice, cut once, and write documentation another engineer can pick up and run with.

It's a plus if you've worked with Huntress or similar managed EDR/ITDR, SASE platforms, or HIPAA or SOC 2 environments, or if you hold certifications such as MS‑102, SC‑300, AZ‑104, or CCNA.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, along with opportunities for career growth in cloud‑first IT service delivery, automation, and cybersecurity. Our dynamic and supportive work environment is centered on operational excellence, providing employees with the tools and resources needed to succeed. Additionally, team members gain hands‑on experience with cutting‑edge security and lifecycle management technologies, ensuring they stay at the forefront of industry advancements. Lastly, you’ll enjoy unlimited vacation, sick leave, and access to our Employee Assistance Program to support your well‑being.

Why Join Next Perimeter:

Our operations are mature. We run on EOS (the Entrepreneurial Operating System), with a clear Accountability Chart, structured weekly meetings, and a leadership team that respects process. Our documentation standard is simple: if someone has to call you to understand what you built, it isn't finished.

We don't run on heroics. We don't want you working 60‑hour weeks; we want you building systems that let all of us go home on time. And you'll work directly with leadership as Next Perimeter grows its security and compliance work for clients in regulated industries.

What Your Schedule Will Be:

This is an in‑office position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Upon the successful completion of Next Perimeter's 90‑day introductory period, you'll be allowed to select one (1) recurring work‑from‑home day.
