Job summary

Insource Services, a Bay Area IT consulting firm, seeks an IT Engineer with MSP or multi-client service experience to manage complex client environments, from cloud migrations to network upgrades. You will collaborate with engineers and IT managers to resolve issues, develop policies, and contribute to ongoing client success across multiple platforms.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in customer-facing technical roles, strong TCP/IP networking, and experience with Windows Server, Exchange, IIS,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 3 years in a customer-facing, technical support/management role.
• Experience managing 30+ servers, monitoring and helpdesk systems.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking and Windows Server ecosystems (Exchange, IIS, SQL).
• Ability to multi-task across clients and technologies while staying professional.

Responsibilities

• Participate in client technology upgrades and projects including cloud migrations and network upgrades.
• Collaborate with network/server engineers and IT managers to communicate issues and milestones.
• Assist with researching, testing, and developing solutions for corporate IT and clients annually.
• Participate in sales/strategy meetings and develop maintenance policies for each client.
• Monitor alerts via automated network monitoring systems and coordinate resources for tasks.

What you'll do:

• Working as part of a service delivery team, participate in client technology upgrades and projects varying in scope from cloud migrations, complete network upgrades, network infrastructure design, GSuite/Office 365/Azure/AWS/Dropbox/migrations/implementations and new products as they are adopted. Both onsite in Bay Area and remotely.
• On a regular basis, actively participate in meetings with all network/server engineers and helpdesk technicians discussing new issues, latest technologies, case studies, roadblocks and outstanding incidents. Work closely with the IT Support Specialists and IT Managers to effectively communicate issues, project milestone and make recommendations to client management.
• On an annual basis, assist with researching, testing and developing of solutions for both corporate IT and clients.
• On an ongoing basis, participate in sales and strategy meetings with existing and potential clients, contribute to knowledge management and develop Maintenance Policies for each client. Constantly monitor and react to alerts via automated network monitoring system.
• Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings, resource deployment of other engineers and coordination of resources on specific tasks as well as work hand-in-hand with IT Managers to effectively drive innovation in an effective manner for end-users.

What We're Looking for:

• Unique ability to work with both business and technical‑minded people to plan and execute against project timelines and deliverables
• A strong understanding of all TCP/IP Networking Protocols and Procedures, all relevant Windows Server and Workstation Operating Systems, Exchange, IIS, SQL, terminal server, Xen/VMware or like virtualization technology, Google Apps, Drobox and Citrix
• Experience managing over 30+ servers, monitoring, helpdesk systems and setting up system efficiencies
• A proven adeptness to detail work and can demonstrate analytical/research skills
• Passion to constantly seek improvement in technology solutions
• Ability to multi‑task across clients, industries and technologies, while maintaining an appropriate level of professionalism and composure
• Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Engineering, or Computer Science; and/or equivalent work experience
• 3 years in a customer‑facing, technical support/management role
