Job summary

Halliburton is seeking a Senior IT Desktop Technician to perform configuration, installation and repairs of PC hardware and peripherals under direct supervision, following established procedures.

The role entails a 6-month contract with high potential for extension or conversion based on performance. Requires A+ certification and 4 years of PC-related experience, including software/hardware configuration and strong desktop OS support.

Qualifications

• A+ certification or equivalent required.
• 4 years of experience in a PC-related field including software and hardware configuration.
• A+ networking certifications are useful but not required.
• Strong expertise in desktop operating systems and MS Office support.

Responsibilities

• Consult with the end user to define data migration requirements and perform the data migration if required.
• Provide training and guidance to other team members.
• Coordinate with the desktop architecture team when bringing in new desktop images or adjusting procedures.
• Adhere to facility security measures, safety standards and software licensing procedures.
• Coordinate special requests for distribution to technician staff.
• Monitor trouble tickets and coordinate with vendors for equipment repair as needed.
• Perform own work and assist others as directed.
• Ensure tasks have minimal impact on organizational operations.
• Identify and correct errors under supervisor guidance.

Job description

The Senior IT Desktop Technician under direct supervision, performs configuration, installation and/or repairs of PC hardware and peripherals according to established procedures.

• Pay Rate: Up to $28.00/hour, depending on experience.
• Assignment Length: 6-month contract with a high possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
• Shift Details: Monday - Friday | 8:00 am - 5:00 pm | Possible Overtime

Responsibilities

• Consults with the end user to define data migration requirements and perform the data migration, if required.
• Provide training and general guidance to other members of the team.
• Coordinate with the desktop architecture team when bringing in new desktop images or when adjusting procedures.
• Adheres to and enforces facility security measures, company safety standards and software licensing procedures.
• Coordinate special requests for distribution to technician I and technician II staff.
• Monitors for trouble tickets and coordinates with appropriate vendors for equipment repair as needed.
• Performs own work and provides assistance to others as directed.
• Job tasks, correctly performed, have minimal impact upon the viability of the organization.
• Error is readily ascertainable by the supervisor and can be corrected.

Qualifications

• Skills are typically acquired through an A+ certification or equivalent.
• 4 years of experience in a PC related field which includes experience in software and hardware configuration.
• A+ / A+ Networking certifications are useful but not required.
• Strong expertise in desktop operating systems and MS Office productivity support.
• Experience with networking support and light server administration.
• Capable of managing inventory and handling hardware/software requisitions.
• Proven history of providing desktop support in a fast-paced environment.
