Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Principal IT Data Engineer to architect and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions that empower Finance and Legal teams. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver data-driven insights and robust data governance.

You will lead design, implement, and optimize data transformations, collaborate with BI to craft dashboards, and mentor teammates while exploring GenAI-enabled improvements across the data lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of related experience with a BA/BS degree and knowledge of Finance, Operations, or Legal domains.
• 5+ years in data engineering building pipelines and analytics.
• Proficiency in SQL and database management.
• Hands-on with SAP Data Objects and SFDC Data Objects.
• Experience with Spark and Airflow ETL.
• Cloud experience (preferably GCP) with BigQuery, Dataflow and Cloud Composer.
• Familiarity with AI tools and GenAI in development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and data warehouses/data lakes.
• Collaborate with Finance and Legal stakeholders to translate business needs to data solutions.
• Optimize pipelines for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Implement data quality and governance processes for accuracy and compliance.
• Work with BI to design dashboards, reports, and analytics tools.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in data eng and BI development.
• Evaluate emerging technologies (AI/ML, GenAI) for future-ready architectures.
