Senior IT Business Analyst – SAP ECC FICO

#4900

Charlotte, North Carolina, United States

What We Need:

The Senior IT Business Analyst – SAP ECC FICO serves as the primary strategic liaison between the Global Finance/Accounting organization and the IT team. In this role, you will lead the architecture, functional design, build, and continuous enhancement of core SAP ECC financial modules—including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Treasury, Tax, and Payroll accounting.

Additionally, you will oversee an offshore team of IT finance business analysts, driving project delivery, production support, and complex third‑party system integrations across modern financial platforms.

What You'll Be Doing:
Business Partnership & IT Strategy
  • Serve as the dedicated point of contact (POC) between the IT department and Corporate Finance, Accounting, Tax, and Treasury stakeholders.
  • Translate complex business requirements into detailed functional specifications, solution architectures, and technical change requests.
  • Facilitate requirement-gathering workshops, prioritize sprint backlogs, and manage end-to-end project roadmaps for financial systems.
  • Lead and coordinate design, configuration, testing, and deployment across SAP ECC FICO sub-modules:
    • Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR): Automated clearing, payment runs, billing, and dispute management.
    • Treasury & Cash Management: Bank communications, cash flow forecasting, and in‑house banking.
    • Tax: Local and international tax configuration, reporting, and statutory filings.
    • Payroll Integration: Financial postings, wage-type mapping, and accruals between HR/Payroll systems and the general ledger.
  • Supervise testing lifecycles (Unit, System Integration, UAT, Regression) and coordinate cutover and hypercare activities.
Offshore Team Leadership & Governance
  • Direct, mentor, and coordinate day-to-day work for a team of offshore IT finance business analysts and developers.
  • Review functional designs, enforce configuration standards, and ensure deliverables meet SLA and quality benchmarks.
  • Manage resource capacity, sprint velocity, and technical documentation standards.
Third-Party Financial Application Integrations
  • Architect, configure, and maintain robust middleware and API/IDoc-based interfaces connecting SAP ECC to specialized financial tools, including:
    • E-Invoicing & Statutory Compliance: EDICOM, Golden Tax (China)
    • Receivables & Credit Management: HighRadius
    • Indirect Tax Automation: Taxware
    • Payment Gateways & Tokenization: Paymetric
    • Financial Close & Balance Sheet Reconciliation: BlackLine
    • Banking & Messaging Protocols: SWIFT / Host-to-Host (H2H) banking
    • Procure-to-Pay Automation: BASWARE
    • Travel & Expense Management: SAP Concur
What You Will Need To Be Successful:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
  • SAP Experience: Minimum 7+ years of hands‑on functional configuration and design experience in SAP ECC 6.0 FICO (GL, AP, AR, AA, Bank/Treasury, Cost Center/Profit Center Accounting).
  • Integration Expertise: Demonstrated track record integrating SAP ECC with enterprise platforms such as BlackLine, HighRadius, Taxware, Paymetric, SWIFT, Concur, BASWARE, EDICOM, or Golden Tax.
  • Team Leadership: At least 2–3 years of experience leading or coordinating offshore technical and functional teams.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong familiarity with SAP interface technologies (IDocs, ALE, RFC, BAPIs, EDI, REST/SOAP APIs) and transport management.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to bridge technical jargon and executive-level business concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting global multi‑currency and multi‑company‑code manufacturing or supply‑chain operating environments.
