Job summary

BlueWater Federal Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Senior IT Architect/Team Lead to support the DOE EHSS AICS program.

The role emphasizes secure, data-driven operations, architecture modernization, DevSecOps, and Zero Trust across DOE sites in the DC metro area. The ideal candidate will design high-level architectures, lead requirements and feasibility analyses, oversee CI/CD pipelines, QA, and releases, and ensure compliance with enterprise standards and security requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field; 6+ years of experience may be substituted.
• 7+ years designing and developing new software or major software revisions.
• Top-level technical expertise in architecture and systems integration.
• Experience coordinating QA-compliant development, releases, source control, CI, and configuration management.
• TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert preferred; active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain a Q clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create high-level architectural specifications and resolve integration, interoperability, platform, security, and compatibility issues.
• Gather and elaborate requirements, acceptance criteria, dependencies, assumptions, alternatives, risks, technical approaches, labor estimates, and schedules.
• Lead feasibility analyses and present architectural options for software, hardware, cloud, data, APIs, and processes.
• Establish schedules, assign technical responsibilities, monitor progress, and coordinate prototype, UAT, and production releases.
• Lead source control, automated testing, CI/CD, QA, and change, release, and configuration management.
• Ensure solutions conform to DOE/EHSS enterprise architecture, Section 508, Zero Trust, identity/access, cybersecurity, and secure-development requirements.
