Job summary

BlueWater Federal is seeking a Senior IT Architect / Team Lead to support the DOE EHSS Application, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity Support (AICS) program. The role is hybrid, with potential support across the DC metro area.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of software architecture experience, active Top Secret clearance, and certifications (TOGAF, AWS/Azure). Responsibilities include defining architectures, overseeing CI/CD, and ensuring compliance with security standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology or similar field.
• 6+ years of experience; degree may be substituted.
• 7+ years designing and developing new software or major revisions.
• Experience with requirements, cost reporting, alternatives analysis, schedules, responsibility assignment, and progress monitoring.
• Experience coordinating QA-compliant development and production releases, source control, automated testing, CI, and configuration management.
• TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert preferred.
• Must have an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Q clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create high-level architectural specifications and resolve integration, interoperability, platform, security, and compatibility issues.
• Gather and elaborate requirements, acceptance criteria, dependencies, assumptions, alternatives, risks, technical approaches, labor estimates, and schedules.
• Lead feasibility analyses and present architectural options for software, hardware, cloud, data, APIs, and processes.
• Establish schedules, assign technical responsibilities, monitor progress, and coordinate prototype, UAT, and production releases.
• Lead source control, automated testing, CI/CD, QA, and change, release, and configuration management.
• Ensure solutions conform to DOE/EHSS enterprise architecture, Section 508, Zero Trust, identity/access, cybersecurity, and secure-development requirements.

Overview

BlueWater Federal is looking for a Senior IT Architect / Team Lead to support the DOE EHSS Application, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity Support (AICS) program

AICS enables secure, reliable, and data-driven operations across the DOE enterprise through application modernization, DevSecOps, Zero Trust implementation, continuous monitoring, and infrastructure sustainment supporting EHSS's environment, health, safety, security, and classification missions.

This is a hybrid role with potential support of multiple DOE sites in the DC metro area.

Responsibilities

• Create high-level architectural specifications and resolve integration, interoperability, platform, security, and compatibility issues.
• Gather and elaborate requirements, acceptance criteria, dependencies, assumptions, alternatives, risks, technical approaches, labor estimates, and schedules.

• Experience coordinating QA-compliant development and production releases, source control, automated testing, CI, and configuration management.
• TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert preferred.
• Must have an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Q clearance.
