A Day in the Life

Our Global Diabetes Capability Center in Pune is expanding to serve more people living with diabetes globally. Our state-of-the-art facility is dedicated to transforming diabetes management through innovative solutions and technologies that reduce the burden of living with diabetes.

In this role as a Senior Data Scientist in the Advance Analytics team, you will work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.

This role offers a dynamic opportunity to join Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. While you will start your employment with Medtronic, upon establishment of SpinCo or the transition of the Diabetes business to another company, your employment may transfer to either SpinCo or the other company, at Medtronic's discretion and subject to any applicable information and consultation requirements in your jurisdiction.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms to solve business problems.
  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
  • Use software design principles to develop production-ready code.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project objectives and deliverables.
  • Design and execute experiments to test hypotheses and validate models.
  • Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders clearly and concisely.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in data science and machine learning techniques.
  • Mentor and guide junior data scientists.
Required Knowledge and Experience
  • Strong understanding of ML algorithms and techniques: supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning. Good knowledge of Gen AI, NLP, and Computer Vision.
  • Strong programming skills in Python. Must be an expert in writing ML code.
  • Experience with full-stack web development (FASTAPI, Panel, React).
  • Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using SQL and Spark.
  • Hands-on experience with state-of-the-art ML and DL applied to large-scale datasets.
  • Experience with ML frameworks and libraries (PyTorch, Scikit-learn, NLTK, llama-index, Langchain, Langgraph, MLFlow).
  • Solid understanding of statistical concepts and techniques, with a strong math background.
  • Knowledge of feature engineering and model evaluation techniques.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS).
  • Experience with data orchestration tools and CI/CD (Github).
  • Expertise in deploying and monitoring ML models.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
