Job summary

Unisys seeks a Principal IT Architect to support enterprise infrastructure engagements for managed services clients, spanning pre-sales scoping, solution design and project delivery. The position covers virtualization, servers, storage, databases, networking, and cloud/on-premise environments.

Experience leading enterprise infrastructure engagements, including design and delivery across virtualization, servers, storage, databases, and networks.

Responsibilities

Support pre- and post-sales technical scoping, contribute to ROM estimates for infrastructure and migrations.
Design and deliver technical solutions across virtualization, server, storage, database, network, and related platforms.
Own assigned projects from design through delivery, communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Serve as an execution-level owner on initiatives such as datacenter migrations, DR, cloud migrations.
Set realistic expectations with clients on scope, timeline and sequencing.
Work with resources and SMEs to extract task breakdowns and hours estimates.
Monitor progress and keep work on track.
Adapt to variability in project scale and complexity from single-server to multi-phase engagements.
Operate effectively in a fluctuating client environment during growth.
Provide project management support and maintain solution architecture standards and runbooks.
Provide technical escalation support as needed.
Work across core enterprise infrastructure including VMware/vSphere, physical servers, Oracle/SQL databases, RHEL/Linux, Windows Server.
Assist customers with technology planning around emerging technologies and strategic initiatives.
Advise account delivery teams on managed services best practices to promote high-quality outcomes.
