Role Overview

The Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging (MSP) Business Applications & Technology (BA&T) team is seeking a Senior IT Application Development Engineer (ITAppDev) specializing in electrical design software. The ideal candidate should work autonomously, adapt quickly, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should have a strong technical background with experience in Electrical Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, preferably for electrical schematics and PCB design, as well as Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software. The role demands a customer-centric individual capable of collaborating with end-users and cross-functional teams to define requirements, manage system configurations, and drive operational excellence through workflow management. The candidate should also be able to analyze system architecture and product development processes to support strategic planning for scalability.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage and troubleshoot configurations and operational parameters for business applications.
  2. Develop and facilitate user training sessions.
  3. Support application infrastructure in collaboration with the software development team.
  4. Administer ECAD applications.
  5. Create drawing/part templates and sheet formats for engineering teams.
  6. Develop and manage system workflows, access controls, change management, and CAD integrations.
About the Team

The MSP team develops automated solutions and sustainable packaging initiatives across Amazon's operations, focusing on enhancing customer experience and reducing waste. The BA&T team provides applications, software, and technology that enable customers to develop and manage their product portfolios throughout the product lifecycle.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience debugging and troubleshooting within EPLAN and Altium software.
  • Experience with workflows, access control, change management, and CAD integrations.
  • Working knowledge of PDM and PLM solutions.
  • Experience administering document management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent EPLAN/Altium CAD experience.
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.100 drafting standards and the Y14 series, especially ASME Y14.5-2009 and later.
  • Experience working with product development user groups, identifying requirements, and guiding customization and deployment efforts.
