Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an experienced application developer to design, implement, and support centralized applications and SDP engineering tools at our Mossville, IL location.

You will lead coding efforts, customize software solutions, evaluate changes, and resolve issues across complex systems while collaborating with senior staff and business users to deliver reliable, scalable software solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, MIS, CS, or 8+ years of software development experience.
• At least 5 years as an application developer with proficiency in .NET and JavaScript.
• Proven experience in software design, development, and support.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS/Azure) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, coding, testing, and debugging of programs with varying complexity.
• Configure and customize purchased software solutions to meet business needs.
• Evaluate proposed software changes and assess impact on performance and outcomes.
• Identify and resolve application and technical issues to ensure reliability.
• Work independently on complex programs while collaborating with senior staff.
• Complete most programming assignments with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrate expertise in programming languages, design, testing, and documentation.
• Integrate in-house systems with third-party software for seamless operation.
• Continuously improve development and support processes to enhance efficiency.
• Collaborate with users to diagnose and resolve issues and deliver strong support.
