Job summary

VSO in Lorton, VA is seeking an experienced Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to lead our security program for DoD-classified environments. You will oversee risk management, coordinate ISSOs, and drive policy development across edge and enterprise systems.

Applicants should have 8+ years in technology, 5+ years in information security management, active TS/SCI clearance, and familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, and SIEM tools. This onsite role offers a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 3+ years of leadership experience or equivalent.
• 8+ years in technology with progressive responsibilities.
• 5+ years in information security management and SCI/SAP exposure.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain formal IS security program and policies for edge environments.
• Coordinate with PSO and cognizant security official on external information system approvals.
• Oversee ISSOs and assign responsibilities in their absence.
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability testing with intrusion/monitoring tools.
• Monitor security incidents and threats; maintain incident response processes.
• Maintain a repository of cybersecurity documentation and ATOs.
• Coordinate IS security inspections, tests, and reviews; manage audits.
• Ensure configuration management policies for hardware/software changes are followed.
• Serve as a voting member of the CCB/REB with veto authority on security decisions.
• Develop and deliver security awareness training to employees.
