Nightwing Intelligence Solutions, LLC seeks an experienced Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support a federal client in the Dulles, Virginia area. You will work with a skilled team delivering secure government information systems and maintain documentation for audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
• 8+ years of experience in federal cybersecurity or government IT.
• Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800-3, RMF, and federal security compliance processes.
• Familiarity with secure system design, encryption, identity management, and access control.
• Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation for audits and accreditation.
• Experience executing scans with vulnerability tools (Nessus, AppDetective, WebInspect).
• Experience with Sponsor's A&A Tool.
• TS/SCI with Polygraph required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Assessment and Authorization (A&A) documents and procedures.
• Collaborate with program ISSE and government security representatives.
• Support IA program compliance per DCIDs, ICD 503 and NIST publications.
• Design, develop, implement, and sustain secure government information systems.
• Work with system owners, program managers, and security teams to protect mission-critical systems.
• Engineer, implement, and maintain security controls per RMF and NIST SP 800-53.
• Develop and maintain security documentation (SSPs, POA&Ms, architecture diagrams).
• Evaluate emerging technologies to strengthen the Sponsor's security posture.
• Monitor security systems, analyze logs, and respond to incidents.
