Job summary

Everforth ECS in Washington, DC is seeking an Information System Security Engineer SME to design, implement, and maintain secure information systems. The candidate will lead RMF lifecycle activities and serve as a technical advisor on cybersecurity.

This role requires Top Secret with SCI eligibility and 10+ years of progressive security engineering experience; CISSP/CISSP-ISSEP/CSSLP/CASP/ISSAP certifications are preferred. Salary range $175,000–$190,000.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing RMF-based security architectures.
• Strong background in risk management, security assessment, and authorization processes.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and coordinate security teams across programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of the RMF lifecycle for Enterprise IT systems.
• Oversee the Prepare step with defined roles and risk strategies.
• Guide system categorization according to mission impact and regulatory requirements.
• Select, tailor, and document security controls aligned with system categorizations and compliance.
• Oversee implementation of technical, operational, and management controls across lifecycles.
• Ensure security control assessments are planned, executed, and documented.
