Job summary

AGE Solutions delivers cybersecurity engineering services in the U.S. government and related sectors. We seek an ISSE to drive RMF guidance across SDLC for on‑prem, cloud, and legacy systems, collaborating with ISSMs, ISSOs, and development teams.

The ideal candidate has DoD 8140 security architecture credentials, a TS clearance, and deep RMF/NIST experience, including SIEM and vulnerability tooling, to strengthen system security while maintaining mission readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years of related experience.
• DoD 8140 Work Role 652 – Security Architect Certification (one of Security X/CASP+CE, CCSP, Cloud+, CISSP, CSSLP, CISM, CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSIP, CSSLP, GSEC).
• Must have a current DoD Top Secret clearance.
• Must reside within commutable distance of Fort Meade, MD or Chambersburg, PA for hybrid onsite (4 days onsite weekly).
• Expert-level knowledge of RMF and NIST SP 800-37.
• Expert-level knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 controls.
• Experience applying DoD STIGs, SRGs, PPSM.
• Hands-on engineering/configuration with enterprise security tech (SIEM, vulnerability scanners, EDR).

Responsibilities

• Embed security engineering for Mission Partners, ISSMs, ISSOs, system owners, architects, and development teams.
• Provide security engineering support throughout the SDLC including requirements gathering, design reviews, sprint planning, modernization, implementation and production.
• Translate RMF and DoD policies into actionable engineering solutions.
• Conduct security architecture and design reviews for new and existing systems.
• Analyze network and cloud architectures to identify security weaknesses.
• Collaborate with architects to implement achievable security controls.
• Document vulnerability mitigation strategies and POA&M actions.
• Develop solutions reducing attack surface while preserving mission capability.
• Apply security requirements to concrete implementations (MFA, encryption, secure zoning).
• Mentor ISSMs/ISSOs and developers; present risks and mitigation to technical and government leadership.
• Document customer interactions and technical recommendations as required.
